Tom will begin his second term in the Connecticut General Assembly in January 2009. Previously, he served two elections to the Glastonbury Town Council. He was first elected in Glastonbury in 2003. Civic involvement and a commitment to the environment and community service have been his trademarks.
Tom has been consistently involved in issues of concern to Glastonbury residents for many years, which include property tax relief, conservation and improving funding for education. In the State Capital, Kehoe has served on committees that address many of these issues directly.
As a State Representative, Tom has been able to work effectively with legislative members on both sides of the aisle. After years of legislative attempts to reform the formula for Education Cost Sharing (ECS) to ensure that Towns get their fair share of funding for Education costs, Tom was instrumental in making that happen during his first year at the Legislature, bringing an additional $2.8 million back to Glastonbury over a two year period.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Tom is putting his knowledge and professional experience to work to make a difference in the State Assembly for Glastonbury citizens. During his business career, he was formerly general counsel at Electric Boat, so he knows the importance of the defense industry to Connecticut. Prior to that, he was counsel for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for a former group of Combustion Engineering based in London, as well as doing litigation with a firm on Wall Street in NYC.
Tom has worked for an equipment supplier to the oil and gas industry in Houston, which gives him good insights into how that industry works. He now works at ALSTOM Power Inc., the successor of Combustion Engineering and has daily first hand knowledge of how a Connecticut company competes in the global economy. Those insights are invaluable to his service for Connecticut and Glastonbury in the State Legislature.
